The Coast Caen 2023 event organised by the French-Japanese Oceanography Societies and the University of Caen and the M2C Laboratory is beginning to receive support from a diverse partnership. After the French Embassy in Japan, then the Regional Committee for Fisheries and Marine Farming of Normandy, the Regional Committee for Shellfish Farming of Normandy, the actors of the marine development of offshore wind energy have joined the partners of this international scientific and technical event which will take place at the University of Caen in October 2023. They are EDF Renewables which leads 4 offshore wind projects in France: Dunkerque, Fécamp, Courseulles and Saint-Nazaire; RTE: manager of the electricity transmission network in France; the Calvados Offshore wind park: 2nd offshore wind park under construction in Normandy and GIS ECUME: Groupement d’Intérêt Scientifique sur les Effets CUmulés en MEr created in November 2020 which studies the cumulative effects of human activities in the coastal environment.
On the Japanese side, EMECS: International Centre for Environmental Management of Coastal Seas has also wished to join this partnership. Other actors from the scientific and technical world have also been approached and should provide their responses to this request before the end of the year. We will keep you informed.
