The Japanese Embassy in France has granted its patronage to the Coast Caen 2023 event and the 19th Franco-Japanese Oceanography Symposium. This is in recognition of the work carried out over the past sixty years by the two Franco-Japanese Oceanography Societies in their efforts to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and to bring together the French and Japanese scientific communities.
